Before falling, Kikyo lived with only their father and grandmother.
Their mother died while giving birth to her first and only child.
When they fell, they found comfort in the motherly character known as Toriel.
They were probably on top of the mountain to sketch the scenery around them in their notebook but lost balance, resulting in their fall.
